Joshua Tree is a new feature film by Li Cheng and produced by George F Roberson, both of Denver. It was filmed and produced in the Denver-Boulder metro area. And stars Kim Trimbo, of Boulder, and John Hoff, of Littleton, and features numerous top Colorado-based cast and crew.
Joshua Tree will world premier at the Cyprus International Film Festival in September. In October, Joshua Tree will be in the main competition at the Peloponnesian Corinthian International Film Festival (in Greece). The Joshua Tree story is set against the 2008 USA economic collapse, and both Greece and Cyprus have been devastated by the crisis.
Joshua Tree post-production attracted top industry professionals including: Denver-based Editor, Jeremy Dehn, an Austin Film Festival winner (details click here); and Boulder-based Ed Kaufman who also did Sound Design for a 2012 Oscar winner (details click here).
Joshua Tree featured performances are by Denver-based Susan McCullough, French horn (details click here) and Joseph Martin, Trombone (details click here) of the University of Denver Lamont School of Music and the Denver Brass (details click here).
Joshua Tree features all original music by New York-based composer Joel Diamond, a Grand Jury Prize winner at Sundance Film Festival (Composer for The Believer – details click here) and Grammy nominated song. Mr Diamond spent a month “in residency” in Colorado finalizing the score and recording the sound track (at Coupe Studios, Boulder) for which he performs all the piano parts.
